This boss accommodates two sets of mounting holes, allowing compatibility with steering wheels featuring 6 x 70MM or 3 x 50.8MM PCDs. Designed for welding to the steering column, it meets FIA regulations for competition environments.
For usage in competition environments adhering to FIA regulations, the steering wheel quick release mechanism aligns with the latest FIA technical specifications outlined in Appendix J Article 255 dated 01-01-03 5.7 3.7 Steering Wheel. The quick release mechanism features a yellow-colored flange concentric to the steering wheel axis, signifying compliance. Operation involves pulling the flange along the steering wheel axis.
Electrical connector options include both 8-Pin and 12-Pin configurations. The 12-Pin connector requires soldering, while the 8-Pin connector comes with 10 Male and 10 Female crimp connectors.
